The challenge: disruption of hands‑on education during the pandemic

With the onset of the COVID‑19 pandemic in 2020, all on‑site courses were suspended overnight. At the same time, the need for accessible medical education became even more critical. Mocni Na Starcie needed to rapidly transform their educational model and deliver a fully digital learning platform that could: • connect instructors and learners remotely, • support structured ultrasound education, • scale quickly without increasing operational complexity.

The solution: a scalable, content‑first education platform

Mocni Na Starcie and Codewave began their collaboration through the Tech To The Rescue network. Following discovery and architecture workshops, both teams agreed that a clear separation between mobile applications and the content management layer was essential. A headless CMS architecture was selected to ensure: • fast iteration of educational content, • independent mobile app updates, • long‑term scalability. Flotiq was chosen as the core CMS and integrated with native mobile applications, allowing content updates without requiring new app releases. Codewave was responsible for designing the end‑to‑end system architecture and implementing both the backend and mobile applications. Within just two weeks, the team delivered a platform capable of managing: ✔ structured articles and lessons, ✔ multiple ultrasound (US) course types, ✔ assessments and exams, ✔ references to medical literature, ✔ a media library (images, audio, PDF files), ✔ secure user authentication via AWS.

Working with Codewave on the development of the ULTRASOUNDsGOOD application has been a great experience. From the very beginning, the team understood our vision and built a platform that perfectly supports our mission of providing hands-on ultrasound training to future medical professionals. Flotiq, as the backbone of our content management, made it incredibly easy to structure and update lessons, articles, and assessments in real-time. The intuitive interface allowed our team to manage the platform effortlessly, without requiring technical expertise.

Results: medical education platform ready in 2 weeks

The content‑first architecture enabled rapid deployment and immediate value for both educators and learners. Content creators gained the ability to: • create, edit, and publish educational materials independently, • manage courses and exams without technical support, • analyze content usage through built‑in dashboards. As the platform continues to grow, Flotiq provides a robust and adaptable foundation for expanding reach, adding new course formats, and supporting a broader medical audience. The final solution is a mission‑driven digital education product, designed to democratize access to ultrasound imaging education and support the next generation of medical professionals.
